There are fewer and fewer retail outlets, and yet we still love us a nice store. And, of course, as operators we love great outdoor locations.
And so, amateur radio stores are listed, but so too are the electronics, hardware, or outdoor supply stores. We also list museums, great operating locations, and more.
Help us to complete the list.
And if you are a business, don’t forget to ‘claim’ the listing so you can modify it and add content to it.

Much pride goes into organizing and keeping alive our nets whether those be essential hurricane nets or a simple afternoon rush-hour net on our local repeater.
Ham Exchange hopes to, in some little way, contribute to a net’s ongoing success. List it here, or even use it as a way to obtain check-ins. Operators can even leave comments or ratings to help the net controller make the net as good as it can be.

Ham Exchange is not the only classifieds or listing website; we know this well. The problem we found with all the other sites is that they do not show off your gear as nicely. Listings are not curated and pruned. There are no specific fields for all the necessary features of a piece of gear but also for an event, hamfest, website or place. Also, they do not sell hamfest tickets, we do, making this a one-stop shop for all things hamfest. Last but not least are our promotional efforts. We aim to spread Ham Exchange far and wide by piggy-backing on Ham Community outreach efforts at hamfests across the country. In fact, when you do list your hamfest, send us an invite and we may very well be buying a table there (schedule permitting). Bottom line is: we are going to actively help you sell, buy, give away, promote, or participate!
Ham Community is the original site that got this adventure started. Founded in 2018, its goal is to bring together amateur radio operators who want to discuss all things ham at a higher level. Among its features is The Elmers’ Circle that makes available expertise of the highest caliber. Later, starting in 2020, Ham Community’s founders created additional sites, one of those being Ham Exchange.
Note that Ham Community is the ideal place to ask question about or discuss something you see on Ham Exchange.
This is an amateur radio website so, as such, we welcome the sale of all amateur radio gear and services. We do also accept any gear or services regularly used by amateur radio operators such as a weather station or sleeping bag for Field Day or SOTA, or even a desk or a chair for a shack.
Absolutely! That is the whole point of Ham Exchange; it is user-supported. Just try to post it in the right place and if when do post, we ask that you complete the listing as fully as possible. Others will depend on that information, as you will when others post.
Some things yes, some things no. For instance, we do charge a nominal fee to straightforward sell your gear. However, we do not charge for Silent Key estates, nor do we charge if you are giving something away. Most events can be listed for free. The ones that we do charge for are, again, a nominal fee. In short, we are charging the bare minimum, just enough to pay for expenses. The team here will not be getting rich off of Ham Exchange (or any other Ham Community projects) any time soon. But we do want to make sure we have enough revenue to keep offering you unique, high quality services. The radios you sell and buy are high quality, the antennas you build are high quality, the SWR meters we all depend on are high quality — we want to make sure our websites meet those high quality standards.
When Ham Exchange posts a listing, only Ham Exchange admins can make changes to it. If you are the legitimate ‘owner’ of that listing (e.g. the net control for a net or the owner of a listed business or the organizer of an event) you can ‘claim’ that listing. Once you claim the listing, you will become its ‘owner’ allowing you to edit and update the listing.
Depending on the type of listing, some claims are free, others require a modest fee. For instance, event listing claims are paying whereas on-air nets are claimed for free.
What happens when you post the listing? Do you become its owner? You do! When you post it, you own it. However, in some instances we still have ‘claim’ packages which will give you, among other benefits, a verification badge.
Note that ‘claiming’ does not apply to classified listings.
